What is "Nikujaga"?
Nikujaga (meat and potato stew)
Meat, potatoes, onions, carrots, etc., sauteed in oil and then sweetened with soy sauce, sugar and mirin. In Japan, it is often one of the top dishes that people want their girlfriends to cook for them!
Benefits of ”Nikujyaga”
It is a healthy dish with relatively low salt intake because it does not contain flour like other stews and because you do not drink the broth. Root vegetables are rich in nutrients and have many health-promoting functions such as preventing colds, improving beauty, high blood pressure, and swelling.
Onions are said to improve blood circulation.
Carrots stimulate the stomach, aid digestion, and are good for tired, dry, watery eyes. (Vitamin A is good for the eyes).
Potatoes improve gastrointestinal health and are good for ulcerative abdominal pain.
Beef is good for stomach and intestines, energy, muscle strength, and postpartum anemia.
This makes this menu a gentle regimen for the stomach and intestines.
Meat and potatoes soaked with umami are very tasty. It is full of vegetables, low-calorie and healthy.
Delicious and very healthy.
Just stir fry the ingredients and cook them in the broth.
