Step1. Wash rice in water and soak in water for 30 minutes.

1. place the rice in a colander stacked in a bowl.

2. Add water and stir 10times to wash.

3. Lift up the colander and discard the muddy water in the bowl.

 

4. Repeat steps 2-3 for 3sets. It flushes out old starch on the surface of rice.

5. Drain the water in the colander.

 

 

Put all the rice into a heatproof bowl.

Use a deep heat-resistant glass bowl to prevent spills.

6. Add 180g of water to the heatproof bowl.

7.Soak the rice in the water for 30minutes.

8.Cover the heatproof bowl with a lid (or a plate).

 

After 30 minutes, the rice absorbs water and turns white. Do not soak the rice in water for more than 60minutes.

Step2. Cook in microwave oven.

Place the plate in the microwave with the lid still on.

9.Microwave in a microwave oven at 500w for 6minutes.

10.Next, microwave at 200w for 6minutes.

 

Step3. Let rest for 15 minutes.

11.15minutes Leave it as it is.

In the photo, the plate is removed to show the condition of the rice, but please leave the plate on.

If you fail to cook

If you fail in cooking and produce food that does not taste good, it is okay.

 

Soft and watery finish

Cause 
・Too much water.
・Low microwave power.
・Short cooking time.

 

Countermeasures
If you carefully watch the rice and cook it in the microwave until it reaches a good hardness, you may hopefully succeed. If this does not work, eat it as porridge.

 

 

Finished rice is hard

Cause
・Too little water.
・Cooking time in microwave oven was too short.

 

Countermeasures
Pour a tablespoon of water over the rice and cook it in a microwave oven at 200w for 1 minute.
If it is still hard, cook it again for another minute. Hopefully you may succeed.
If still no luck, fry it and eat it as fried rice.
