Tandoori-Style Chicken

From my kitchen in Japan

This is a Japanese home adaptation rather than a claim to traditional Indian tandoori chicken. It is built for an ordinary pan or grill and supermarket ingredients.

Ingredients

  • Chicken thighAbout 300 g
  • Unsweetened plain yogurt100 g
  • Tomato ketchup2 tbsp
  • Olive oil1 tbsp
  • Curry powder2 tsp
  • Salt1 tsp
  • Pepper1/2 tsp
  • Grated ginger1 tsp
  • Grated garlic1 tsp

How to make it

  1. Cut the chicken into bite-size pieces and place it in a bag or container with all seasonings. Rub together and marinate for at least one hour.
  2. Grill the chicken, starting with the skin facing up, and cook the inside thoroughly.
  3. Toss the cooked chicken with any remaining cooked sauce from the pan and serve.
