Onion and Wakame Miso Soup

From my kitchen in Japan

This page used to be framed around a health claim. The useful part is the recipe itself: onion and wakame make an easy everyday variation of miso soup.

Ingredients

  • Water354 ml
  • Onion1/4
  • Dried wakame1 g
  • Dashi granules2 g
  • Miso20 g

How to make it

  1. Bring the water and dashi to a gentle boil.
  2. Add the wakame and sliced onion and cook until the onion is tender.
  3. Lower the heat and dissolve the miso into the soup.
  4. Turn off the heat before a strong boil and serve.

Substitutions & practical options
